His concern and commitment to the community is demonstrated through his past representation as a City Councillor; his active involvement with the St. Catharines Rotary Club since 1980; and his volunteer efforts with the "Out of the Cold" program. In addition, his participation on many local boards is actively sought. His past board memberships have included: president of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines, the president of the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival, chairperson of the promotions committee and director of the St. Catharines Downtown Association, board of directors of the United Way, racing official for the Canadian Henley Rowing Association and member of the St. Catharines Real Estate Board. The energy John expends in real estate is as vast as his volunteer efforts. Beyond the residential and commercial transactions that he facilitates, he has much experience with new home construction, relocations and estate sales. John has consistently been an award recipient as a top producer over his real estate tenure (Top Producer for 2003 in his office).
